what we have to like, to brighten and lighten


	I like	that I am able to forgive myself and others more. After all, we have all come from one unknown into another, therefore some tendered gentleness should be expected

	I like	music, possibilities, time alone, relenting the physical vanities at last! so what energy I have can go to the ones I love

	I like	the joys of being a grandmother, who now can move with upturned plans and frightening fevers, collapsed certainities upon which our foundations are made -- learning the faultlines & while getting up is getting slower, we have those small hands to hold onto

	I like	the convergence of alienated peoples who can set aside their "nevers" and realize we are truly in all this together

	I like	the togetherness of family reunions, connections made one with another, whose strength is the source of our healing --This is the WHY of our continued living, even in pain

	I like	lazying by the Oceans reaches, sandy beaches and salty air -- there I can untend my physical be-in and come nightfall, lay still and watch the world turn the stars, butter yellow moons, and the excitement of finding seashells

	I like	discoveries made along the way -- Native American Indian arrowheads, baskets woven by now-passed away hands, greeting with smiles people whose everday chores need a ready hand, unearthing a tangible link with our lost past.

	I like	watching children learning, eating hearty good-for-them foods, playing with abandon of the world's heavy truths and cutting bands

	I like	words threaded about some time, thing or other, find perfect the letter of their better

	I like	most of the things and hurts they bore, are gratefully erased from the organized delivery of a mind ever set to keep score

	I like	closing off my mind stores and allowing to reveal the ancient memories that lie too deep within--that present thought will not let us enter in; or Meditation, you might say

	I like	knowing I've done all I can, yet getting up and trying again

	I like	night by hearth fires, telling stories and enjoying SMORES

	I like	meeting and making a friend who sets their reach beyond their grasps

	I like	making music, listening to it, writing the songs and all that goes along with this hidden tool, whose ability is to render kinship among a world of strangers, when...IF only they knew were not unlike me or you.

	I like	feeling at the end of day, that my presence made a difference in somebody's life, helped to lessen their constant strife

	likes	moving with hands that can help to feed and comfort the hungry and lost
